Memories
I was a member of the Atakapa crew from 1968 to 71 as a WO and CWO2 and was Chief Engineer. During my first couple years and for some years before I was there the Atakapa was used as an intelligence gatherer. In late 1969 and early 70 we reconfigured back to an ATF but we didn't have any salvage gear at the time I left. John Cullipher, LT was captain when I went aboard and was relieved by Fred Sears, LT. I am down in Florida for the winter, but do have numerous pictures up north that I will send you when I return in the spring. The only name I recognised was RM2 Brodhed from the list, I do still communicate with an ex XO, Steve Celec, LT, who is now a professor of finance at Florida State.
